Nithala

Nithala is considered one of widely played games in gulf countries. All the cards are used in nithala except the jokers. The following are two types of playing this game:
1. It could be played as 4 players were every player plays for his own
2. It could be played as teams were two players facing each others are in one team and one score

The rule of the game is simple and clear. Every one should win as much hands as he/she can. The order of the cards from smaller to bigger is as follows: 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,J,Q,K,A

The start of the Game

At the beginning of the game, a Card will be shown, this card will determine what we call (Hukum), the trump will be one of the following (Diamond, heart,spade,club). 13 cards will be given to each player except the first player who will be given 12 cards + the cards shown at the beginning.

A player who has too much trump will have more opportunity to win more hands

After all players see thier, each have to determine how many has he/she will win. Decision will be given to every player starting from the one who took the trump then going anticlockwise until everyone chooses how many hands they will win.

Calculating the points

  • If a player chooses to win 3 hands and won them or won more, then player will receive 30 points. In the other hand, if less than 3 hands are won then the player will have -30.
  • If a player chooses to win 4 hands and won them or won more, then player will receive 40 points. In the other hand, if less than 3 hands are won then the player will have -40.
  • If a player chooses to win 5 hands and won them or won more, then player will receive 50 points. In the other hand, if less than 3 hands are won then the player will have -50.
  • If a player chooses to win 6 hands and won them or won more, then player will receive 60 points. In the other hand, if less than 3 hands are won then the player will have -60.
  • If a player chooses to win 7 hands and won them or won more, then player will receive 70 points. In the other hand, if less than 3 hands are won then the player will have -70.

In the case of choosing to win 8 hands and more with choosing the same Hokum which is the cards shown at the beginning, points will be calculated as follows:

  • If a player chooses to win 8 hands and won them or won more, then player will receive 160 points. In the other hand, if less than 3 hands are won then the player will have -80.
  • If a player chooses to win 9 hands and won them or won more, then player will receive 180 points. In the other hand, if less than 3 hands are won then the player will have -90.
  • If a player chooses to win 10 hands and won them or won more, then player will receive 200 points. In the other hand, if less than 3 hands are won then the player will have -100.
  • If a player chooses to win 11 hands and won them or won more, then player will receive 220 points. In the other hand, if less than 3 hands are won then the player will have -110.
  • If a player chooses to win 12 hands and won them or won more, then player will receive 240 points. In the other hand, if less than 3 hands are won then the player will have -120.
  • If a player chooses to win 13 hands and won them or won more, then player will receive 260 points. In the other hand, if less than 3 hands are won then the player will have -130.

In the case of choosing to win from 8 to 13 hands with changing the trump which is shown at the beginning, points will be calculated as follows:

  • If a player chooses to win 8 hands and won them or won more, then player will receive 80 points. In the other hand, if less than 3 hands are won then the player will have -160.
  • If a player chooses to win 9 hands and won them or won more, then player will receive 90 points. In the other hand, if less than 3 hands are won then the player will have -180.
  • If a player chooses to win 10 hands and won them or won more, then player will receive 100 points. In the other hand, if less than 3 hands are won then the player will have -200.
  • If a player chooses to win 11 hands and won them or won more, then player will receive 110 points. In the other hand, if less than 3 hands are won then the player will have -220.
  • If a player chooses to win 12 hands and won them or won more, then player will receive 120 points. In the other hand, if less than 3 hands are won then the player will have -240.
  • If a player chooses to win 13 hands and won them or won more, then player will receive 130 points. In the other hand, if less than 3 hands are won then the player will have -260.
  • The above rule could be changed by the host of the room, host can change the rule were he can allow players to change the trump in choosing 6 or 7 or 8 or 9 or 10.

    The end of the game

    Game ends when a player reaches the maximum number that the host determined, which could be 200,300,400, or 500. Thus, ranks of the player will depend on which has a higher score
